Waterproofing Products for Leak Repair

Waterproofing Products for Leak Repair

All roof designs are prone to developing leaks

Repairing leaks on various surfaces requires a different approach.

Why Roofs Leak Where They Do

Roof penetrations for ventilation ducts & pipes or additions like solar panel mounts are very often where leaks occur whereas aging materials are most often the cause of leaks.

RoofBond® for All Surfaces

RoofBond® is the workhorse ! It comes in grey, black, white and copper for sealing seams along various surfaces of a roof including metal, wood, concrete, glass and various polymer surfaces used in industrial buildings. Also perfect for reinforcing an area where the roof colour matching keeps the repair from standing out.

Addhésion® Fleece for Terraces and Balcony Edges

Designed to seal the edges of where the floor meets the wall prior to pouring liquid urethane type sealing surfaces. Addhésion® Fleece is built specifically for this purpose.

RoofBond® Stretch for the Trouble Spots

RoofBond® Stretch is specifically designed for these types of repairs. RoofBond® Stretch has up to 60% elongation built into it, meaning it stretches around irregular shapes, chimney bases, dormer corners, solar panel frames, and other large penetrations without tearing or losing its seal as the building shifts slightly with temperature changes. those edges before a liquid urethane coating goes down, since the fleece backing is designed to accept that coating properly rather than fighting it. If a terrace repair is on the list alongside a roof leak, it’s designed specifically for this type of application.

2Sided® Tape: Where Two Different Materials Meet

2Sided® tape is designed to bond different materials together thereby bonding two surfaces of similar or dissimilar materials together with a strong enough hold to handle the variable surfaces.

Getting the Application Right

Selecting the right product is only part of a successful repair. Proper installation matters just as much on a roof, since a rushed application on an irregular surface tends to trap air bubbles that eventually work the seal loose again. This is where a seam roller, either the SSR-50 silicone version or the heavier STS-50 stainless steel roller, helps ensure consistent pressure during installation, pressing the tape down evenly and pushing out trapped air as it goes, helping create a more secure seal.

A Practical Approach

A full range of waterproofing tapes for all roofing applications, RoofBond® Stretch for sharp edges, RoofBond® for varied & broader applications, Addhésion® Fleece for terraces, 2Sided® for mismatched materials..

We’ve been doing this for more than twenty years now, shipping across the UK and the EU and we’ve found the same principles apply to flat roof industrial buildings across many different regions. The materials might look different from one country to the next, but the common causes of roof leaks remain remarkably consistent.
